Maintenance AssistantSummary:
The Maintenance Assistant provides a variety of standard and skilled tasks in the maintenance and repairs of center grounds and facility.
Maintenance Assistant Responsibilities:- Works closely with and follows direction of director/supervisor.
- Maintains building and grounds in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
- Maintains and repairs basic functions of center as determined by the Maintenance Director.
- Takes care of tools and equipment.
- Makes minor repairs on handrails, windows, flooring, walls, ceilings, beds, wheelchairs, Geri-chairs, electrical equipment, sprinkler systems, generators, emergency lights, fire alarms and extinguishers, changes filters on HVAC equipment, carries, lifts and stock supplies.
- Remains on call when assigned for 24/hrs a day.
- Assumes supervisor's responsibilities in his/her absence.
- Ensures that customers/families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Prior experience in LTC preferred (not required)
- High school Diploma or equivalent
- Basic knowledge of wiring, plumbing and carpentry
