The Manager of Strategic Projects and Operations Performance is responsible for working with service line leadership to lead the design, planning and execution of strategic projects and improve day-to-day operations. With a focus on daily operational performance, the role will work directly with service line leadership to establish the appropriate priorities, help facilitate issue identification and resolution internally and across departments, establish goals for performance improvement, and monitor trends in key performance indicators.
Designs, recommends, and implements operational changes to increase efficiency and effectiveness. Develops and maintains cooperative relationship with physicians and facility leadership to ensure smooth interactions and to support needs.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OperationalLead the design, planning, and execution of strategic projects for service line.Oversee strategic program launches, managing cross-functional teams and resources to deliver projects on time and within budget.Works with service line leadership to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the departments within service lines.Utilize advanced analytics to inform decision making and continuously improve operational performance.Champion change management and process improvement.Monitor and report on project financials, risks, milestones, and outcomes, ensuring transparency and proactive issue resolution.Establishes operational key performance indicators and goals with service line leadership. Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and monthly reporting.Manage strategic and operational improvement initiatives within departments in collaboration with service line leaders, including change management plans.Understands needs of department staff and patients and collaborates with department management to support needs.Consistently researches and facilitates implementation of leading practices within the departments.Responsible for department leadership development and staff engagement through operational improvement initiatives.Participates in evaluating, selecting, and integrating health care technology and information management systems that support and/or facilitate patient flow.Medical StaffDevelops and maintains relationships with physicians to meet needs while ensuring efficient and effective operational performance.Develops and maintains cooperative relationships with key stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective collaboration with department operations.Human ResourcesBuild, mentor, and inspire high-performing project teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.In conjunction with the Human Resources Department, determines human resource needs and develops or assists in the development of programs to maintain and improve the quality and efficiency of the departments.Assists the department managers with recruiting and evaluating of the department management team (i.e., Supervisor, Coordinators, etc) to assure that department is staffed with individuals whose skills and experience align with departmental needs and who reflect behavior and performance consistent with the hospital's Mission and Values statement.Assists the service line manager with developing a staffing plan that meets the approved budget.Mentors individuals and identifies opportunities for leadership development.ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOther duties as assigned by supervision.KNOWLEDGE
