Job Summary
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) performs comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, orders, conducts, supervises, interprets diagnostic and laboratory test, and prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatments in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease. Promotes health and the prevention of illness and injury. Practices autonomously and in collaboration with other health care professional to treat and manage patient health problems. The roles of the NP includes direct patient/family care, consultation, research, patient/families/ groups/ and communities advocacy, performance improvement, and leadership & professional development.
Qualifications- Current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse is required
- Current Georgia Authorization/Certification as an NP Advanced Practice Registered Professional Nurse is required
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required
- Master's Degree in Nursing from the Georgia Board of Nursing Graduate School NP program is required
- Previous experience in area of specialty preferred
