Overview
Texas Oncology is looking for a PRN Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) for our Willowbrook location in Houston, Texas. The role is Monday‑Friday, non‑weekend, non‑holiday, and does not include on‑call duties. The position level—Level I, Level II, or Senior—is determined by the candidate’s experience.

Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate, and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards.
- Assess patient and family needs and provide teaching and instructional material.
- Prepare and administer therapies under physician direction and supervision.
- Administer medications and blood products using correct dosage, route, and technique.
- Ensure pre‑authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to therapy administration.
- Facilitate dose modifications by reviewing labs, consulting protocols, calculating doses, and communicating with physicians.
- Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central line catheter devices.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided.
- Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture.
- Demonstrate knowledge of physiological, psychological, developmental, and age‑specific differences in the patient population.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to assess and manage patient and family needs.
- Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
- Graduate from an accredited professional nursing program; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Maintain continuing education requirements.
- 0–3 years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum three (3) years nursing experience, oncology experience strongly preferred.
- Minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology.
- Oncology certification preferred.

Physical RequirementsRequirements include full range of body motion, handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, eye‑hand coordination, standing and walking for extended periods, and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs. Corrected vision and hearing to normal range is required.
