Under direct supervision of the Front End Supervisor, the Checker is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per company standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performing cash register operations and safeguarding company assets. Must be able to bend, stand and stoop for prolonged periods of time.

• Maintain the checkout process efficiently and accurately.
• Perform cash register operations and safeguard company assets.
• Provide exceptional customer service in accordance with company standards.
• Adhere to safety and security procedures.
• Assist customers and coworkers with product location and information.

• Read and write Spanish/English, interact with general public and co-workers.
• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, product pricing codes, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but simple instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 45 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
• Basic PC/Outlook skills (extra). Retail Management Certificate (extra).

The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store. Physical requirements include lifting, standing, walking and kneeling. Visual and auditory requirements must be met. Reasonable accommodations may be required; refer to the full description.
