Unlike many traditional law enforcement roles, SROs work a structured schedule aligned to the school calendar, with no nights or weekend shifts required.

We are currently hiring for two levels:

Maximum Salary: $77,728 annually

Minimum Salary: $58,898 annually

Georgia POST Basic Law Enforcement certification required, along with successful completion of criminal history, psychological, and polygraph screenings, and a valid Georgia driver’s license. An associate degree in a related field is required or must be obtained within three years of hire. A minimum of five years of law enforcement experience is required.

Key Skills

Strong communication and relationship-building skills; ability to work effectively with students, educators, families, and community members; and the ability to provide instruction on topics such as safety, law, citizenship, and crime prevention.

Primary Responsibilities

Serve a school cluster by partnering with administrators and staff to maintain a safe and secure learning environment. Act as a liaison between the school and local law enforcement agencies, proactively plan for and respond to safety concerns, assist with emergency preparedness and drills, provide guidance on legal matters, and build positive relationships with students to reduce juvenile delinquency. SROs also maintain appropriate documentation, support investigations when necessary, and serve as visible, trusted role models within the school community.

Ability to meet law enforcement physical standards, respond to emergencies, restrain individuals when necessary, lift up to 100 pounds, and operate a motor vehicle in the performance of duties.
