Position Summary
Physical Therapist (full‑time or part‑time) for the Babies Can Wait Program. Location negotiable within the Southeast Health District, serving multiple counties (Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Brantley, Bulloch, Candler, Charlton, Clinch, Coffee, Evans, Jeff Davis, Pierce, Tattnall, Toombs, Ware, Wayne).
SalaryFull‑time salary: $50,982.94 – $81,955.29. Part‑time hourly: $28.00 – $30.00.

Under general supervision, evaluate and assess infants and toddlers in the Babies Can Wait program across multiple counties. Implement physical therapy services to maximize independent functioning, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and coach staff and families on supportive strategies in home and community settings. Adapt materials and environments to improve child participation in daily activities, maintain progress documentation per Medicaid guidelines, participate in research, and coordinate care for families.
QualificationsDoctorate or professional degree in physical therapy and current or eligible for Georgia licensure in the area of assignment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience in early intervention programs with children ages 0‑3 and working with children with disabilities.
- Expertise in multidisciplinary collaboration, proficiency with clinical assessment tools, a family‑centered approach, and strong communication and documentation skills.
- Spanish bilingual proficiency is a plus for serving diverse populations.
Current State employees are subject to State Personnel Board salary rules. The selected candidate may be required to pass drug screening and a criminal background check. Employees may also be asked to assist with emergency responsibilities as needed.
BenefitsEmployees may use up to 30 minutes per workday for wellness activities, taken as two 15‑minute breaks or one 30‑minute break.
