Mock Trial Advisor

The primary role involves advising a school mock trial team, ensuring adherence to district policies, and facilitating student learning through structured guidance and evaluation.

Education and Experience:

Experience working with secondary‑aged students.

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and work consistently with staff, students, and parents.

Responsibilities and Duties Instructional Strategies

Follows and maintains knowledge of all district policies and procedures.

Ensures adherence to proper procedures in collecting and disbursing funds.

Completes required paperwork in a specified time and manner.

Attends fundraising and extra‑curricular activities associated with mock trial.

Assists students with managing behaviors.

Supervises students in school settings and at special events.

Informs administration of class and student activities.

Works to establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents concerning their progress through conferences, written messages, telephone calls, and/or email.

Promptly reports any serious accident, illness, or incident that might affect the school, teachers, or students.

Takes all responsible precautions to provide for the health and safety of students and to protect equipment, materials, and facilities.

Professionally represents the school and the district in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students.

Complies with applicable district, state, local, and federal laws, rules, and regulations.

Attends work regularly and is punctual.

Works with the community to support student-driven community service.

Student Growth and Development

Analyzes the case, prepares arguments, practices roles, and presents leadership, guidance, and instruction against another team.

Designs and conducts recruitment to attract new mock trial team members.

Selects, organizes, and publishes a schedule of competition, responding to invitations and completing documentation.

Provides individual and group instruction in preparation for tournament competitions.

Maintains performance requirements, enforces academic requirements, and verifies each student’s eligibility to participate in mock trial.

Arranges transportation, lodging, and meals for tournaments.

Schedules, coordinates, and supervises all fundraising projects.

Maintains accurate financial records regarding fundraising activities, depositing monies and receipts with the building secretary and business manager.

Promotes good public relations through personal appearance, attitude, and conversation.

Serves as a role model for students.

Makes contacts with the public with tact and diplomacy.

Displays good organizational and leadership skills.

Job Availability

Starts: 10/01/2026. Seasonal extra duty assignment.

Salary/Benefits

Salary will depend upon position classification.

Background Check Fee
