Accountant, Financial Analyst, Financial Reporting

Stratus HR is looking for a professional, innovative, and detailed individual who is numbers-driven to join our Accounting team. This individual will be responsible for a wide range of activities, including month-end closing processes and reconciliations, 401k plan and Workers’ Compensation accounting and compliance, along with a variety of other financial analysis, compliance, and special projects. This individual will ensure integrity of accounting information by recording, verifying, and entering transactions.

• Perform month-end close procedures (prepare journal entries, reconciliations and support schedules) and ensure financials are in accordance with GAAP.
• Prepare and review monthly financial reports to be used by management for key decision making.
• Analyze, maintain, and reconcile 401k and Workers’ Compensation plans.
• Assist in preparation of local, state and federal tax returns.
• Correspond with 3rd party vendors and clients.
• Coordinate with and work closely with other internal departments (i.e. HR, Payroll, Business Development, Benefits) to create reports, improve processes and research inquiries and discrepancies.
• Assist with financial and plan audits annually.
• Other projects and duties as assigned.

• Currently working toward or already received a BA/AA degree in Accounting, Finance, or other related Business field.
• 2+ years of accounting experience.
• Highly experienced in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (particularly Microsoft Excel and SQL).
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of GAAP and the accrual method of accounting.
• Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
• Successful track record in meeting deadlines while handling multiple projects.
• Willing and able to learn new skills and techniques, take on new challenges and responsibilities.
• Strong organization and planning skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• High moral and ethical values and work ethic.
