Overview

The Miller Family Office was established to facilitate the growing personal and business needs of the Larry H. and Gail Miller family. The Miller Family Office serves to help the Miller family operate cohesively and equitably by providing a platform where all members of the Miller family can share views, provide input, and contribute to the well-being of the family. We are seeking a detail-oriented and ambitious Staff Accountant to join our finance team.

In this role, you will do more than just manage ledgers; you will be an integral part of our month-end close process and a key contributor to the team. This position is designed for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to apply GAAP principles in a multi-entity environment while working toward professional milestones.

Staff Accountant
Reports to: Accounting Manager

Compensation: $66,000 - $72,000.

Responsibilities
  • Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and support the monthly close process
  • Reconcile bank accounts, verify deposits, and respond to bank inquiries
  • Reconcile credit card accounts, verify transactions, and follow up to ensure complete and accurate records
  • Reconcile customer, payroll, and other financial accounts and support accounts receivable activities
  • Verify payment of accounts payable invoices and ensure expenses are charged to the appropriate accounts
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements and related reporting
  • Maintain the general ledger
  • Support internal clients by gathering account information and documentation for quarterly and annual reporting
  • Apply and maintain working knowledge of GAAP
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure financial activities comply with company policies and applicable requirements
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 1-2 years of accounting experience preferred
  • Experience in a multi-entity environment preferred
  • Nonprofit accounting knowledge preferred
  • Strong knowledge of general financial accounting principles
  • Familiarity with Net Suite and  Spend and Expense, AP/AR preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
Physical Requirements
  • Work is primarily performed in an office setting
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about facilities
  • May be asked to perform other duties as required
