Job Overview
As the Property Accountant, you will be responsible for journal entries, bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, accounts receivable, and daily and monthly cash disbursements and receipts. You will reconcile Accounts Receivable, security deposits, and rent roll to financial statements for all properties.
Responsibilities- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports.
- Prepare monthly journal entries.
- Assist with annual budget preparation, compiling key assumptions and capital budget information.
- Analyze general ledger accounts and review ledger accuracy.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function.
- Manage cash functions effectively.
- Research and respond to inquiries from Property Managers concerning tenant statements.
- Perform bank reconcilations and general accounting duties for multifamily properties.
- Knowledge of real estate databases and transaction processes, including contract reviews.
- Understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Experience in accounting for multifamily real estate.
- Proficiency in Excel and Yardi.
- Ability to represent the company in a professional manner.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
