Video Editor - Entry Level

Avalanche Studios is seeking a full‑time entry level video editor. Avalanche Studios is an industry leading film and video production company that has been in business for over 25 years. We produce TV ads, television programming, documentaries, and branding videos and other media content. (We are sometimes confused with Avalanche Studios Group in Sweden that makes video games, or Avalanche Software in Utah, that also makes video games…not us) .

We are looking to add another full‑time editor with passion for film and video production. We want someone who is excited about telling stories, passionate about their craft, and can work efficiently either alone, or with others. Must be self‑motivated and able to tackle large projects. Must be proficient with Adobe Premiere and somewhat familiar with Photoshop, Illustrator, and After Effects.

Any other skills like color grading and motion graphics skills are helpful but not necessary.

Full‑time video editor. Work 40‑45 hours per week on site at Avalanche Studios facility in Sandy, Utah.

• Work with our post‑production supervisor and producers to edit and finish various film and video projects according to deadlines.
• Ingest raw footage and manage the storage and back‑up of all media.
• Attend weekly production meeting to report on and plan editing projects.
• Manage and maintain editing equipment and facilities.
• Work with producers and other staff on other projects as needed.

Education

Some college or other educational experience with film, video or media production preferred.

Experience

1‑2 years experience with film and video editing processes.

Pay

To be determined, based on experience and qualifications.

Vacation

10 paid holidays. 1 week (5 work days) of paid vacation after 90 days of employment. 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year of employment.
