Job Summary- Educator/Instructor responsible for teaching suicide prevention and mental health trainings in Junior High and High Schools in Weber and Davis Counties, and occasionally in community settings in partnership with the university or local health departments.
- Work with the program coordinator on schedule availability and maintain trainings and certifications.
- Prepare for and give educational training sessions, providing trainees with appropriate materials.
- Arrive to each session prepared and on time.
- Collect and review evaluation forms from each session.
- Improve trainings based on feedback and provide the program coordinator with information and data on sessions completed, attendance, and mileage for reimbursement.
- Attend monthly staff meetings on the first Thursday of each month at 4 pm and coalition meetings as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct others.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint.
- Must be able to lift 20–30 lbs.
- Bachelor’s degree in a health‑related field.
- Experience training or teaching health interventions.
- Certified to teach suicide education and prevention programs (e.g., Signs of Suicide, Youth Mental Health First Aid, ASIST, Working Minds, etc.).
- Standing, moving, and lifting up to 20–30 lbs occasionally; light work, including use of upper extremities for sustained motion.
- Visual acuity required for operating a computer, reading, and driving, as applicable.
