Middle School, After School
The Homework Center (HC) is open daily from 3:30-6:45pm in Room 619. (The HC closes whenever the late bus leaves campus. That schedule is occasionally adjusted to meet the needs of the Athletic Department.) The HC serves all Middle and Upper School students after the school day ends. In particular however, it serves Middle School students who must be supervised at all times after school as they wait for late games, practices, rehearsals or transportation home.
The successful candidate will be able to develop a healthy rapport with Middle and Upper School students, work collaboratively with colleagues in the department, and embrace Waterford School’s mission, vision, and values in curriculum, teaching, and membership in the community.
Competencies and Skills Desired- Manage student sign-in/sign-out and build relationships with students.
- Supervise students during snack time, study periods, and breaks.
- Monitor homework completion, Canvas, and appropriate technology use.
- Provide academic support and encourage productive study habits.
- Address behavioral concerns using Homework Center procedures.
- Coordinate with Class Deans regarding assigned students and concerns.
- Foster a respectful, supportive community among students.
- Ensure students are picked up safely and the building is clear at closing.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and follow school procedures.
