Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Principal Systems Test Engineer / Sr. Principal Systems Test Engineer to support the Sentinel Program in Roy, UT.
Responsibilities- Maintain smooth operation of multi‑user computer systems, coordinating with network, software, and system engineers, project managers, end users, and IT management.
- Recommend and implement system enhancements that improve performance and reliability, including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management.
- Integrate IP‑based devices into network architecture and support configuration and troubleshooting of devices and network.
- Work within and across teams to support and coordinate daily integration activities.
- Execute root‑cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve complex network and system issues.
- Coordinate integrated testing activities.
- Oversee test activities in support of requirement verification and validation.
- Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval.
- 3+ years experience working with lab environments and processes (Foreign Object Elimination, Electro‑Static Discharge, Configuration Management).
- 3+ years experience integrating COTS, GOTS, and custom software in a security‑constrained environment.
- 3+ years experience leading, planning, and executing hardware/software product integration, documenting discrepancies, and analyzing mission performance.
- 3+ years engineering or administration experience for Cisco/Juniper networks, RHEL, or Windows OS.
- Educational levels:
- Bachelors in Science with 5 years experience, Masters with 3 years, or Ph.D. with 1 year (Principal Engineer).
- Bachelors of Science with 8 years experience, Masters with 6 years, or Ph.D. with 4 years (Senior); an additional 4 years can be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to troubleshoot systems using built‑in OS functionality and logs; perform OS tuning, networking, user management, security hardening, log review, and system backups.
- Experience with scripting, particularly shell scripting (SH, CSH variants, Python, or Power Shell).
- Experience administering and operating lab or test environments; system performance analysis.
- Experience with vSphere and/or VMware Cloud Foundation.
- Experience with operation, development, or testing of RTOSs.

Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $. Secondary Level Salary Range: $ – $.
Compensation may include overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses. Annual bonuses reward individual contributions and company results.
Employment InformationStandard work schedule: 9/80 (nine‑hour days Monday‑Thursday, every other Friday off). U.S. Citizenship is required for all positions with a government clearance.
