Electrical Project Surveyor

Job Summary

We are looking to appoint electrical project surveyors to join our Planned Maintenance service within the Mechanical & Electrical team.

• Survey domestic and commercial properties.
• Work with the project engineer to develop work packages for contractor delivery.
• Oversee contractors day‑to‑day activities, working collaboratively with contractors and BCC staff to ensure projects are delivered effectively.
• Provide support and guidance to ensure safe, high‑quality maintenance programmes and installations across the City Council’s housing stock.
• Assist in monitoring contracts to ensure consistent high standards and best value for money.
• Collaborate with the project engineer to ensure that all relevant Health and Safety and CDM regulations responsibilities are adhered to by external contractors, reporting issues to their line manager.
• Support the Council’s target of reducing its carbon output by 2030 by learning new technologies and communicating knowledge to residents, staff and contractors.

• Experience and/or qualifications in the electrical industry.
• Level 3 qualification in a related engineering background is recommended.
• Practical experience in running construction projects.
• Drive to take initiative, introduce innovations and continually improve services for residents.

• Full‑time, 37 hours per week, permanent role.
