Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects.
  • Identify customer needs and provide advice on financial solutions that serve customers best.
  • Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver the desired customer experience and achieve business objectives.
  • Proactively engage existing customers and prospects, conducting needs‑based assessments to grow loyalty and uncover immediate and future opportunities.
  • Recommend tailored solutions—including everyday banking, retail investments, lending solutions, home financing (including business‑for‑self applications), and small business solutions—while guiding customers toward digital and self‑serve options for easier banking.
  • Support customer transaction needs based on traffic and actively build new relationships within the community.
  • Resolve questions and issues via consumer credit audits and quality checks, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply the Risk Management Framework to protect the bank’s assets and maintain the quality of the lending portfolio.
  • Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing, following sound credit granting principles and bank policies.
  • Act as a key member of a collaborative branch and market team, integrating marketing promotions into customer conversations and providing strategic advice.
  • Organize work information for accuracy, completeness, and continuous improvement of the customer experience.
  • Manage various tasks, including escalations, while adhering to risk and compliance processes and safeguarding customer assets and privacy.
  • Monitor for suspicious activity related to money laundering and report as required.
  • Maintain current knowledge of personal banking products, practices, and regulatory developments, incorporating this knowledge into customer interactions.
  • Periodically change work locations and schedules according to branch and market needs, remaining flexible across shifts and days worked.
  • Apply sound, risk‑informed decisions in alignment with business strategy, while respecting policy, law, and regulatory mandates.
Qualifications
  • 2–3years of relevant experience and a post‑secondary degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • For Canada: a completed registration to sell investment products suitable for the jurisdiction.
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Strong working knowledge of personal and small‑business customer needs and solutions.
  • Proficiency with retail investments and lending products.
  • Experience in financial services and consultative customer service or sales roles.
  • Confidence in using social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
  • Drive to deliver a personal customer experience and passion for helping customers.
  • Results orientation and the ability to thrive in a consultative, team‑based environment.
  • Resourceful, self‑starter with confidence to approach customers and collaborate across teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, listening ability, and problem‑solving creativity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, collaboration, and analytical skills.
Salary and Benefits

Salary range: $41,714 – $65,000 (Salaried). Compensation may include commissions, performance incentives, discretionary bonuses, and other perks such as health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
