Job Title: Business Office Manager

Reports To: Administrator

General Summary of Duties

The Business Office Manager (BOM) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the business office at Alta View Surgery Center. This role ensures that all non-clinical operational areas function efficiently, comply with regulatory standards, and support strong financial and operational performance.

The BOM works closely with the Administrator and leadership team to coordinate scheduling, optimize patient flow, and maintain strong collaboration between clinical and administrative teams.

  • Medical records
  • Business office functions (pre- and post-service)

The Business Office Manager also partners with the organization’s centralized business office (CBO), corporate revenue cycle teams, and third-party vendors to support billing operations, revenue cycle performance, and case costing initiatives.

Key Responsibilities Include
  • Supervising daily operations of scheduling, front desk, medical records, and business office staff
  • Coordinating patient flow between administrative and clinical teams
  • Ensuring accurate scheduling and coordination of facility resources to maximize case volume
  • Overseeing revenue cycle coordination including registration, financial clearance, collections, billing oversight, and accounts receivable support
  • Collaborating with the CBO and leadership to monitor case profitability and financial performance
  • Running operational and financial reports and analyzing performance data
  • Assisting the Administrator with preparing and presenting operational data during leadership and governing board meetings
  • Maintaining strong relationships with physician offices, schedulers, and referring partners
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to documentation and patient information
  • Supporting onboarding and credentialing coordination for physicians and offices
  • Promoting a positive team culture and collaborative work environment

Alta View Surgery Center is experiencing significant growth, and this role requires someone who is proactive, adaptable, and willing to step in wherever needed to help the center succeed.

Education / Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • 2–5 years of experience in a healthcare business office, ambulatory surgery center, or hospital setting preferred
  • Supervisory experience managing non-clinical healthcare staff preferred
  • Experience with healthcare billing systems, scheduling platforms, and reporting tools preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and reporting tools required

  • Analyze operational and financial data to support decision-making

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, physician offices, leadership, staff, and patients
  • Present operational information clearly in leadership and governing board meetings
  • Maintain strong relationships with referring offices and external partners

Technical & Regulatory Knowledge

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medical billing, and coding processes
  • Understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Windows-based systems

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing healthcare environment
