Clinical Office Specialist (COS I & COS II) – Multiple Openings
$250 Hiring Bonus
Tanner Clinic is currently hiring for multiple full-time and part-time Clinical Office Specialist positions across several specialties and locations. Applicants will be considered for either a Clinical Office Specialist I (COS I) or Clinical Office Specialist II (COS II) position based on their certifications, qualifications, and clinic needs.

Job
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
- Receive phone calls and respond to patient concerns.
- Obtain prior authorizations for prescriptions and procedures.
- Schedule follow-up appointments for physicians.
- Assist with other office duties as needed.
- Room patients, perform vital signs and obtain patient medical histories.
- Stock and clean exam rooms and office.
- No invasive procedures approved (phlebotomy, injections, IVs, catheters, etc.).
- Phlebotomy work (if certified).
- Other duties approved by supervisor.
- Education
:- COS I – C.N.A. certification OR Basic EMT certification OR Phlebotomy certification required.
- COS II – C.N.A. certification OR Basic EMT certification AND Phlebotomy certification required.
- Other Requirements
:- One or more years of health care experience preferred.
- Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job.
Knowledge
:
- Understand prior authorizations and the referral process.
- Understand templates and create appointments in Next Gen with appropriate protocols.
- Complete credentialing test yearly.
Skills
:
- Perform blood pressure measurements and vital signs.
Abilities
:
- Work in stressful situations.
- Prioritize patients and office needs.
- Good organization skills to maintain office flow.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and providers.
- Standard medical exam/office equipment, including computerized health information management system for medical records, blood pressure machine, scales, etc.
- Combination of medical office and exam/procedure room settings; well-lit, well-ventilated, adequate space.
- Use appropriate body mechanics techniques when making necessary patient transfers and helping patients with walking, dressing, etc.
- Lift up to 30 pounds of supplies.
- Occasional stress from dealing with many staff and patients.
