Imaging Manager
Imaging Manager, reporting to the hospital manager, is responsible for the operational leadership, performance, and quality of diagnostic imaging services at their assigned Sage Veterinary Imaging practice site. This role oversees imaging operations, supervises the local imaging technical team, partners closely with veterinarians and radiologists, and ensures efficient patient throughput while maintaining exceptional standards of patient care and imaging quality.
The Imaging Manager serves as a key operational partner to the Hospital Manager, Practice Site DVM(s), Imaging Director, and Operations leadership. In addition to managing day-to-day imaging operations, this individual is responsible for technical staff development, imaging quality assurance, procedural standardization, equipment oversight, and supporting business development initiatives that drive continued growth of the practice.
This position has primary responsibility for driving patient flow and imaging operations within the assigned practice site. The Imaging Manager leads the efficient daily clinical operation of the imaging department to achieve targeted procedural volumes while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, diagnostic quality, and client service. The role also supports referral growth through relationship development with referring veterinarians, participation in educational events, community outreach, and other business development initiatives in partnership with the broader Sage Veterinary Imaging team.
Because advanced diagnostic imaging frequently requires anesthesia, the Imaging Manager must be capable of safely performing anesthesia procedures while ensuring exceptional patient care and diagnostic quality. Ensuring adherence to established protocols, mentoring, and fostering a culture of safety and clinical excellence that supports world‑class imaging services.

- Ensure imaging studies are completed according to established clinical protocols and quality standards.
- Monitor patient throughput and proactively resolve operational bottlenecks.
- Coordinate imaging resources, personnel, and equipment to optimize workflow.
- Ensure radiologists receive complete, high‑quality imaging studies, patient histories, and all supporting clinical information necessary for timely interpretation.
- Partner with veterinarians to determine when additional imaging procedures, including ultrasound or echocardiography, are appropriate.
- Ensure all imaging procedures meet Sage Veterinary Imaging quality standards before submission for interpretation.
- Provide coaching and supervision for the imaging technical team.
- Participate in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and retention of imaging technical staff.
- Partner with the hospital manager to develop, coordinate, and deliver onboarding, training, and ongoing competency development programs.
- Ensure all imaging personnel demonstrate competency in imaging procedures, patient handling, anesthesia, equipment operation, safety protocols, and organizational standards.
- Participate in quarterly performance reviews and ongoing performance coaching.
