Payroll Administrator

Location:

Sandy, UT

Duration

12 Months

Hours & Shift

37.5 hours per week, no overtime. 1st shift.

Description

Position is primary backup for Payroll Administrator. Assists with all payroll related assignments including payroll processing and timekeeping. Supports a broad range of human resources activities including new hire orientation, associate file maintenance, projects and administrative duties as needed.

Job Duties
  • Payroll Focus
    • Weekly submission of payroll on time (ADP)
    • Partner with departmental timekeepers to ensure accuracy of records
    • Adjust accruals profiles in HRIS (Workday) for promotions, transfers or shift changes
    • Daily updates in payroll system and corrections as needed
    • Prepare payroll related reports
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, and internal policies
    • Ensure new hires, shift changes etc. are entered correctly in timekeeping system
  • HR Focus
    • Coordinate all new hire orientation activities including facilitating presenting new hire orientation
    • Manage I9 processing for new hires
    • Assist with onboarding activities for new hires
    • Maintain all associate files including assisting the Occupational Health Nurse with medical files
    • Run standardized monthly reports from HRIS system (Workday) for HR staff and prepare various monthly required reports for department
    • Assist in preparing for any training related courses including scheduling, materials and communications
    • Assist in any projects or tasks as requested by completing timely, accurately and in an organized fashion
    • Assist with on-site hiring fairs as needed
    • Manage office supplies for the department
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one year of either payroll processing, accounting/bookkeeping, or Human Resources experience
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload
  • Accurate, detailed-oriented and conscientious
  • Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality

    Will drive required tasks through completion, i.e.: no excuses mindset
  • Solid analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail and the ability to learn, adapt quickly and build relationships
  • Advanced MS Excel skills and intermediate skills in other MS applications
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business Management or Human Resources
  • Prior experience with ADP and Workday or similar
