Position Overview
People & Culture Intern attaches to the People & Culture department supporting Megaplex recruiting, onboarding, and promotional processes for Vineyard, Pleasant Grove, Lehi, South Jordan (District + Daybreak), and Sandy. Based in Sandy, UT.
Responsibilities- Positively represent Megaplex to candidates and stakeholders.
- Screen applicants, schedule interviews, and coordinate onboarding procedures.
- Complete E‑Verify employment authorizations and attend new‑employee orientation sessions.
- Advise hiring managers on background checks, hiring decisions, and employee evaluation.
- Act as primary recruiter and liaison for assigned business locations.
- Manage recruiting for all departments within assigned locations.
- Assist managers in assessing staffing needs and scheduling interviews.
- Conduct background checks and schedule drug tests.
- Verify employment authorization via the company’s platform.
- Seek and attend external recruiting opportunities such as job fairs.
- Coordinate promotions and conduct promotional interviews.
- Provide timely filing of documentation and support HR across the MSE and LHM ecosystem.
- Facilitate compliance training, new‑hire orientation, ADA processes, and harassment prevention.
- Submit paperwork for DWS and unemployment claims when requested.
- Communicate professionally with team, management, applicants, employees, and external partners.
- Investigate grievances, produce fact‑finding reports, and recommend resolution.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license, insurance, and clean driving record; use personal vehicle for business travel.
- Execute all other tasks as assigned with flexibility and adaptability.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may substitute.
- Prior experience in a corporate administrative setting preferred.
- Proven full‑cycle recruitment experience (sourcing, screening, interviewing, onboarding).
- Excellent communication, public speaking, time‑management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate across diverse business units and build trust with hiring managers and partners.
- Proficient in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
- Proficiency with HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) preferred; experience with UKG a strong plus.
- Experience coordinating business functions across multiple departments.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to travel between assigned business locations.
- Good driving record and valid driver’s license.
- Capacity to manage moderate to high stress levels.
Pay: $18 per hour.
