The Vice President, Product & Technology is the senior leader responsible for Franklin Covey’s integrated product and technology strategy across education and enterprise solutions. This role owns the vision, strategy, and execution for our platforms and experiences—including the Impact Platform (learner and admin experiences), 4
DXOS, and related technologies and integrations—and leads the cross‑functional organization that builds and operates them (Product Management, Design/UX, Data/Analytics, Engineering, QA).
This is not a traditional software company: our “product” blends principles‑based content, services, and platform experiences. The VP, Product & Technology will be a system thinker who connects content, platform, and customer value to deliver measurable business impact. This leader will operate as a peer on the executive team, regularly represent product and technology strategy at the executive level and with the Board, and play a critical role in advancing Franklin Covey’s mission at scale.
EssentialJob Functions
1. Product & Technology Strategy
- Define and communicate a cohesive product and technology vision and strategy across Franklin Covey platforms and solutions, aligned with company strategy and growth objectives.
- Own the development of a multi‑horizon roadmap (e.g., 0–1 innovation, 1–10 scaling, 10+ horizon) that connects near‑term initiatives with long‑term platform evolution.
- Integrate content, services, and platform experiences into a coherent portfolio that delivers differentiated value across K–12 and enterprise markets.
- Ensure product and technology investments are prioritized and sequenced based on strategic importance, customer impact, and ROI.
- Lead and scale a cross‑functional organization spanning Product Management, Design/UX, Data/Analytics, Engineering, and QA.
- Establish and refine the operating model for cross‑functional execution (e.g., product pods, lean portfolio management, discovery/delivery rhythms) to drive predictable, high‑quality outcomes.
- Foster strong collaboration across disciplines to ensure that product strategy, user experience, data insights, and technical architecture are tightly aligned.
- Build and maintain working norms, processes, and governance that support both innovation and disciplined delivery.
- Provide executive‑level leadership for software platform engineering
, including the technical roadmap and architecture for core platforms (e.g., Impact Platform, 4
DXOS, integrations). - Set direction and standards for engineering excellence
—code quality, testing, observability, documentation, security and operational practices. - Partner with infrastructure, Dev Ops, and security teams to ensure the platforms meet agreed targets for availability, performance, scalability, resilience, and security

- Oversee the data and analytics function to ensure product and platform decisions are grounded in customer behavior, usage patterns, and business outcomes.
