This role is not just about maintaining systems; it offers the chance to build, design, and lead our transition to a modern security framework. You will be a key player in architecting and implementing our Zero‑Trust strategy, securing our expanding cloud footprint, and maturing our overall cybersecurity capabilities. From Azure and on‑prem systems to future AWS integration, you will act as a subject‑matter expert, mentor, and hands‑on engineer tackling critical challenges in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Architect, implement, and manage a Zero‑Trust security model across our organization, including advanced network segmentation, identity and access management, incident response, and micro‑segmentation strategies.
- Take charge of our cloud security posture, primarily in Microsoft Azure with a forward‑look toward AWS, implementing and managing security controls, policies, and monitoring.
- Drive our vulnerability management program, ensuring systems are patched and configured to meet compliance standards such as SOC2 and SOX.
- Manage and optimize Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions (e.g., Crowd Strike, Sophos) and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies (e.g., Microsoft Purview).
- Utilize scripting skills (Power Shell, Python) to automate security processes, from incident response playbooks to compliance checks, within our Dev Ops environment.
- Mentor and upskill team members, sharing expertise in Zero‑Trust, cloud security, and modern security practices to elevate the team’s collective skill set.
- Explore and pilot the use of AI/ML for security automation, threat detection, and analytics, and help build secure sandbox environments for testing new AI tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience designing and implementing Zero‑Trust architecture in a hybrid environment.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Azure security, including Azure Security Center, Entra , and network security groups.
- Strong background in vulnerability management and security compliance (SOC2, SOX).
- Hands‑on experience with modern EDR platforms (e.g., Crowd Strike, Sophos).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation (Power Shell, Python) to enhance security operations.
- Preferred:
Experience with DLP technologies and policy creation (Microsoft Purview). - Familiarity with AWS security principles and services.
- Experience securing the software development lifecycle using CI/CD pipelines and tools like Azure Dev Ops.
- Knowledge of data governance principles and tools (Microsoft Purview).
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, Microsoft Certified:
Cybersecurity Architect Expert (SC‑100), or other relevant cloud/security certifications. - A collaborative mindset with a proven ability to mentor colleagues and lead strategic projects.
