WCF is an A Rated insurance carrier that is growing and is looking for an applicant that wants to join a company with a great culture, great benefits, and great employees. We have an immediate opening for someone who can demonstrate the WCF values to join our team as a Supervisor, Claims. This is an exempt position that reports to the Regional Manager, Claims.
The person in this position supervises a team of claims adjusters to assign and maintain appropriate workloads, ensure productivity, customer service, and claims management in accordance with state statutes and established standards.
- Bachelor's degree or claims designations preferred.
- At least five years of adjusting experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of relevant claims statutes and case law.
- Thorough knowledge of handling complex, litigated claims.
- Strong understanding of terminology relevant to claims
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong organization, time management, and decision‑making skills.
- Manage a caseload of claims.
- Oversee a team of adjusters to support the claims adjusting, litigation, and case management function.
- Audit claims, enter supervisory reviews in claims, and understand and report on performance of their team.
- Prepare and participate in claim reviews and assist with training new and existing employees.
- Review all types of claims settlements and liability denials for propriety, content, and compliance.
- Collaborate with management to hire, train, motivate, supervise, and mentor a team of adjusters to support all aspects of claims functions.
- Stay current on all relevant law and regulation changes.
- Promote excellent customer service.
- Maintain appropriate communication with internal and external contacts including attorneys, investigators, policyholders, agents, and providers.
- Demonstrate proficiency and consistency in applying WCF's claims and state auditing standards.
The expected salary range for this position will be between $89,100 and $111,300 dependent on experience and education. Internal candidate should have six months in their current position, acceptable job performance, and must notify their current supervisor that they have applied for the position.
