Position: Full-Time Stand-Up Forklift Operator

Position Purpose

UDC FG/3PL Operator will be trained in multiple areas of the UDC, including Finished Goods and 3rd Party Logistics Operations. The operator will assist at UDC as needed due to vacations, personal leave or call‑ins, or volume demands. Priority will be dictated by the Team Leader, Distribution Specialist, or designated leader according to shift‑based needs. Must have excellent communication skills and be able to communicate in English (write, read, speak and understand).

The role requires travel to and from any new or existing SFI or 3PL locations. When not required at a 3PL, the operator will be at UDC or another assigned location per the Team Leader or Distribution Specialist. Expected to operate reach truck varieties and/or stand‑up lifts, and/or sit‑down lifts. Must achieve 90% efficiency at 90 days after training. This is a dedicated position primarily working at off‑site locations and will require frequent travel.

Required to complete and pass the Food Safety Exam during the first week of orientation. Any and all other duties assigned by leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Picking, staging, and shipping of customer orders.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the distribution center and remaining audit‑ready at all times.
  • Assessing trailers for damage or other miscellaneous issues (pre‑load inspection).
  • Temperature checking on trailers.
  • Performing extended periods of time at 3PL warehouse as required.
  • Working 12‑hour shifts.
  • Driving a forklift as required.
  • Performing all DC‑PC2, CP, CCP, QP, and CQP process checks required for the position.
  • Following reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer requirement deviations.
  • Identifying and understanding customer requirements and assisting in assuring proper production operation.
  • Demonstrating product identity and recording accurate data on production reports.
  • Performing other duties as assigned, including overtime and weekends.
  • Shoveling snow on dock area as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Units picked, put away, received, and shipped on INVIO/HIVE (Warehouse Management System).
  • Working 12‑hour shifts.
  • Driving a forklift.
  • Performing checks on DC‑PC2, CP, CCP, QP, and CQP processes.
  • Following reaction plans for Food Safety, Food Quality and customer deviations.
  • Identifying customer requirements and maintaining production operation.
  • Recording data accurately on production reports.
Non-Essential Functions
  • Ability to work overtime (OT) and/or weekends as required.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Attending SPS meetings & improvement projects.
Education / Experience / Skills Required
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Basic math proficiency.
  • Hardworking and willing to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Dependable.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. occasionally and 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Repetitive hand and wrist motion, bending and lifting, standing for 10.5 hours each day.
  • Repetitive bending, lifting, and standing with specified durations.
Physical Demands
  • Lifting – 3 to 4 hours per shift.
  • Bending – 1 to 2 hours.
  • Sitting – 1 to 2 hours.
  • Standing – 4 to 5 hours.
  • Walking – 2 to 3 hours.
