Job Overview
Responsible for setting up, operating, and adjusting a group of similar molding machines to support production goals. Ensures the quality and output of molded parts while maintaining a strong focus on safety, housekeeping, and documentation standards. Supports team development by training other mold setup personnel and sharing protocols. Partners with engineering to assist in material and equipment qualification activities. Works closely with the tool room to support mold maintenance tasks such as pin changes.
Applies consistent quality control methods to ensure reliable and compliant production. Performs all responsibilities in alignment with Career Block 3A expectations.
- Set up and operate molds, molding machines, and auxiliary equipment (chillers, dryers, robots, etc.), including tool changes, material verification, and basic maintenance.
- Monitor processes and product quality, troubleshoot issues, and adjust machine settings to maintain efficiency and standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of process changes, machine adjustments, and production activity.
- Perform minor repairs and support preventative maintenance, including assisting with mold repairs and pin changes.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards using specifications, blueprints, and basic measurement tools.
- Optimize production by improving cycle times, material usage, and overall equipment performance.
- Train and support operators on equipment and processes while collaborating with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams.
- Communicate shift performance, downtime, and issues clearly to ensure smooth handoffs.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow all BD safety and quality regulations.
- Support additional production and team needs as required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
Must be able to work B Shift: 12-hour rotating schedule (5:30 PM – 6:00 AM).
Workplace ArrangementsFor most roles, a minimum of 4 days of in-office presence per week is required. For certain roles, the specifics will be indicated in the job posting.
