Manufacturing Engineer

The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for planning and designing manufacturing processes and coordinating integration of machinery for a manufacturing plant to maximize yield and productivity. They maximize efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods & processes, and workforce utilization. The role determines parts and tools needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications and performs a variety of creative tasks.

• Maximizes product yields by analyzing equipment, workflow, assembly methods and processes
• Justifies new equipment and integrates it into manufacturing using a disciplined approach to qualification of equipment and process
• Prepares and utilizes statistical data analytics to make sound decisions on equipment and processes
• Develops and implements cell layout (workstation, material presentation, point of use inventory storage, workflow)
• Develops and implements work instructions and documentation for procedures and provides training to affected associates
• Provides support and information for new and sustaining product development with regards to manufacturability
• Automates machinery and implements control systems to improve quality and productivity
• Identifies waste reduction opportunities and executes a plan to eliminate them
• Assists in the development of preventive maintenance for technicians
• Ensures compliance with safety and quality protocols and reports unsafe conditions immediately
• Performs other duties as assigned

• Liaise with internal stakeholders and obtain appropriate information and data in order to prepare waste reduction initiatives
• Support meetings supplying relevant data, provide updates on plans and highlight concerns relating to actual or potential issues
• Escalate any issues to manager or others in the organization, particularly when there is a risk that could prevent the organization from meeting customer demands

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required
• 2+ years’ experience in an engineering role
• Prior experience in automation and control systems in a manufacturing environment is a plus
