The world needs more intrepid people who are passionate about the outdoors and inspiring others to connect with nature. Wildland is seeking enthusiastic and knowledgeable Day Hike Guides to lead unforgettable adventures through some of America’s most spectacular landscapes.
Responsibilities- Deliver exceptional outdoor experiences that reflect Wildland’s commitment to responsible travel, guest satisfaction, and environmental stewardship.
- Share expertise in natural history, ecology, geology, and local culture while creating safe, engaging, and memorable journeys for guests of all experience levels.
- Work closely with fellow guides and operations teams to ensure every trip runs smoothly, providing outstanding service and fostering meaningful connections between people and the natural world.
- Adapt to changing schedules or route needs and communicate clearly with passengers, management, and team members.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Current valid driver’s license from state of residence that meets the state requirements for the size and type of vehicle being operated for at least 3 years.
- Pass a pre‑employment drug screen (CA only).
- Ability to frequently lift, push, pull weights up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, and squatting throughout a full work shift; fine manual dexterity to perform basic tasks.
- Must be able to hike several miles on difficult terrain while leading paying guests.
- Maintain a Wilderness First Aid or higher certification, professional CPR, epi auto‑injector, and food handler certification.
- Previous experience guiding or extensive experience in the travel and tourism industry.
- Excellent customer service with a friendly, professional, and safety‑focused attitude; follow all WTC minimum operating standards.
- Strong situational awareness and sound judgment while operating vehicles in varying conditions.
- Reliability, punctuality, and strong time‑management skills to ensure on‑time route performance.
- Patience and professionalism when assisting passengers with diverse needs, luggage, or mobility concerns.
- Organize and maintain a clean, professional vehicle; keep equipment to company standards.
- Follow directions and procedures accurately, including logs, inspections, and safety protocols.
