Digi International has an excellent opportunity for a Quality Assurance Manager II
. This position ensures quality assurance and compliance in design/development, production, logistics, installation and service. It facilitates quality improvement and customer satisfaction throughout the organization. It ensures application of quality standards to new, existing and legacy products and serves as a key customer contact on quality issues. Background in electronic assembly and test is a must. Working knowledge of IPC‑A‑610, IPC‑A‑600, and IPC‑J‑STD‑001 is required.

The role will establish, design and drive supplier quality improvement initiatives for CM and ODM suppliers, using incoming inspection, in‑process, test and repair activities to define product reliability issues and redesign opportunities to increase yields and lower overall RMA as a percent of shipment. The role will also create quality analysis studies to define changes in production process, test, product design, manufacturing testing/build‑process and service troubleshooting methods.

It will participate as a member of project teams to assess and improve product quality, provide key quality reports and measurements, interact with customers, service, engineering, manufacturing operations, procurement/purchasing, vendors, contract manufacturers and ODMs, and repair centers. It will also participate and contribute to Quarterly Business Reviews with customers and suppliers, and establish and maintain customer satisfaction improvement at the executive level by working with functional areas to define KPIs and metrics.

• Establish and maintain the quality system: document and maintain a quality system that ensures action to prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity and minimizes risk to an acceptable level; identify and record product quality problems; initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels; verify the implementation of solutions; control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency has been corrected.
• Implement and maintain RoHS, Reach Standards.
• Drive improvements of Digi products and services through the corrective action system.
• Develop and analyze AIAG PPAP documentation, typically level III.
• Maintain supplier confidence: keep acceptance rate, price, delivery and quality information confidential.
• Determine quality improvement parameters: identify statistical methods for testing and trend information relevant to the manufacturing process, conduct final quality audits of incoming materials and parts. Actively participate in design, manufacturing and system verification testing; review quality standards, tolerances and engineering changes, evaluate changes for rework of parts and assemblies; ensure correct and timely ECO in corporations and product configurations.
