• Communicate with leadership regarding encounters and investigations
• Maintain a professional relationship with local authorities and law enforcement agencies
• Collaborate with law enforcement and other local retailers to identify organized retail crime threats
• Assist leadership with cash handling and transfers
• Observe customers and associates for potential acts of theft or fraud
• Take appropriate action to prevent theft, and apprehend individuals engaged in theft activity when prevention is not effective
• Conduct surveillance and apprehension of external theft suspects in compliance with company ethical standards and apprehension guidelines
• Monitor video via CCTV and conduct on-site interviews
• Maintain all apprehension and investigation records according to company standards
• Develop and maintain knowledge and use of CCTV surveillance equipment
• Assist in monitoring store compliance with company policies and procedures relating to theft deterrence, safety, and operational controls as assigned by the supervisor
• Maintain a high visible deterrent to crime and positively influence the security incident rate as well as assist with inventory controls

• Help mitigate security risks to provide a safer environment for employees and customers
• Welcome all customers, visitors, and vendors professionally and assist them in locating staff within the stores
• Issue electric handicapped shopping carts to customers and assist in obtaining wheelchairs and shopping carts
• Examine and properly tag property being brought into the stores, including personal property, equipment for service, and firearms
• Watch facilities and parking areas on foot; direct traffic during special events or heavy customer traffic while enforcing parking regulations
• Make regularly scheduled floor and exterior walks to ensure safety and security of customers and the facility
• Complete monthly reports on safe or non-safe practices found on the sales floor or back stocks

• Help customers and staff with vehicle break-downs and lock-outs; retrieve shopping carts from parking areas
• React as necessary and assist in handling situations such as shoplifting, medical emergencies, and inclement weather
• Ability to work assigned schedules which may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays

• Demonstrate pride and ownership of work while meeting expected deadlines

• High School Diploma/GED;
  College graduate preferred
• Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
• Preference for candidates with prior Loss prevention (2-3 years)
