Assist in Men's, Women's, and Youth shoe areas.
Be proactive in communicating with the Specialty Shop Manager and team to understand urgent needs in the area.
- Select shoes from backstock and place them in the staging area for sales associates.
- Return any unpurchased shoes to the correct areas in backstock.
- Assist Customer Service with shoe return processing and return items to the sales floor.
- Keep product organized to eliminate clutter and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Initiate a warm and welcoming interaction with customers, establishing rapport and offering assistance, setting a positive tone for the customer's experience.
- Maintain a smooth flow of service to minimize wait times for customers.
- Be organized, multi‑task, and maintain all aspects of the Shoe Runner role.
- Work independently and with the team.
- Strong oral/written communication and presentation skills to communicate effectively and promptly.
- Apply basic understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Demonstrate attention to detail.
- Be professional in appearance and attitude, contributing to a positive team atmosphere, and treating others with respect and consideration while following Scheels' policies and procedures.
- Be willing to do other tasks as assigned by leadership and merchandiser leads.
- Work assigned schedule; may include varied hours, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Education & ExperienceThe ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or 1–3 months of sales experience.
Physical Requirements / Lifting RequirementsMust be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work – exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
