Automotive Technician, Automotive Mechanic
We are an auto glass company looking for a Technician Trainee. Even if you don’t meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply. This role provides a full training program that will lead to the Safelite Safe Tech certification. Successful trainees will possess skills in auto glass repair, replacement, and recalibration, and will deliver high-quality service with a can‑do attitude.
Responsibilities- Receive hands‑on and classroom training in the Safelite way.
- Observe and assist in installing and repairing auto glass.
- Recalibrate automotive safety systems, including troubleshooting and conducting diagnostic testing.
- Provide additional services and products to customers.
- Study for and pass certification exams to become a Safelite‑certified technician.
- Safely operate company and customer vehicles, company‑issued tools, and chemicals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Comply with all company policies and standards.
- Competitive weekly pay starting at $20.25 per hour, increasing to $24 per hour after training and certification.

- Program to buy additional PTO or sell unused time up to 16 hours.
- Up to $5,250 annually in tuition reimbursement.
- Paid training and all tools and resources needed for success.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (preferred).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Lift and carry up to 35 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend and twist the body.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Operate a motor vehicle in accordance with all applicable laws, with agreement to be monitored via in‑cab vehicle safety camera or video surveillance.
- Maintain professionalism and provide outstanding customer service.
- Work safely outdoors in a variety of weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
- Work with chemicals, including flammable chemicals, as required.
- Work scheduled days with flexibility on start and end times to accommodate customer needs.
- Use computerized diagnostic tools for recalibration and troubleshooting.
- Problem‑solve independently and collaboratively.
- Read, write, and interpret English language and technical directions.
- Communicate orally (phone) and in writing (computer or other electronic means).
- Maintain a professional appearance, adhering to company dress code and PPE policies.
- Maintain stable performance under professional or personal pressure or opposition.
