The Housing Advocate Team Lead will perform various duties relating to working with poverty and vulnerable populations. This team member will work at The Road Home’s Most Vulnerable Population (MVP) crisis services and shelter program, serving up to 160 adult individuals daily. The MVP Program prioritizes aging and medically vulnerable individuals who are experiencing homelessness, providing safe, accommodating non-congregate emergency shelter.

The Lead Housing Advocate will provide excellent customer service, resources, and support to our Resource Center guests from a Trauma-Informed Care and Housing-Focused perspective.

You Will:

• Provide quality customer service to our guests, who may require additional resources in addition to a warm bed for the night
• Monitor and help regulate activities at the Resource Center, ensuring rules and procedures are followed by both staff and guests
• Provide clear and specific information and instruct guests of Resource Center rules/procedures in a kind, compassionate, and trauma-informed way
• Assist in maintaining a clean and safe facility, identifying special needs and referring needs to the supervisor
• Assist in resolving conflicts that may arise among guests
• Write incident reports as needed, maintain accurate records of guest stays, and ensure accurate shelter documentation
• Answer phones, take messages, and respond to the public
• Provide occasional crisis intervention and emergency interface with community resources such as EMS and law enforcement
• Provide assistance and support to the Shift Supervisor and act as lead staff in the absence of the Supervisor
• Operate as part of a team that strives to serve the homeless in our community
