Software Engineer
PDQ is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to help build and scale the technical foundation behind PDQ Connect. This role spans the full software lifecycle, from backend services to infrastructure and customer-impacting features, with strong opportunities for technical growth and ownership.
You’ll design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Elixir-based services while working across the stack from application code to cloud infrastructure. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to CI/CD practices, troubleshooting production issues, supporting customers, and participating in code reviews and technical discussions. You’ll also conduct research and prototyping with minimal oversight and help ensure systems are secure, reliable, and scalable.
Ideal candidates have 5+ years of experience building resilient applications in Elixir and a strong grasp of PDQ’s stack:
React, Postgre
SQL, GCP, Kubernetes/Helm, and Elasticsearch/Open Search. You should be comfortable with SQL, database migrations, Git workflows, debugging complex systems, and quickly navigating unfamiliar codebases. Strong communication skills and the ability to turn requirements into clear technical proposals and designs are key.
