Drivers are paid based on practical miles, earning 3‑5percent more total miles per year than companies that pay based on short‑route miles. Practical miles roll in faster with a governed truck speed of 68
MPH on the cruise and 65
MPH on the pedal. The top 50% of our Crete Carrier and Shaffer Trucking OTR drivers average more than $101,176 annually, and about $1,945 per week. The top 50% of Hunt Transportation drivers average $93,347 annually, with starting payoff ranging from $0.65 to $0.68 per mile.
