Commercial Electrical Estimator

Job Summary

The Commercial Electrical Estimator will gather and analyze financial data to estimate and allocate costs for a current or proposed product.

• Collaborate with clients, engineers, and staff to understand the products being developed.
• Review and analyze existing and proposed processes, staff, and materials; identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Determine needs for additional staff, machinery, materials, and other resources.
• Estimate costs of new equipment or capital investment necessary for production.
• Draft cost estimates for projects based on data analysis and research; distribute reports to engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare reports forecasting production scenarios; make recommendations based on findings.
• Identify the pricing structure required for products to sell at profit.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of cost accounting principles.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to create forecasts based on financial data.
• Proficient with accounting software and cost software.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field preferred.
• Two years of experience as a Commercial Electrical Estimator.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
