Responsibilities
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for teaching assigned courses, which includes developing and posting syllabi, preparing and delivering instruction, designing assignments and assessments, grading student work, and providing timely, constructive feedback. In addition, Adjunct Faculty are expected to engage in professional development, effectively utilize the College’s Online Learning Management System (CANVAS), and maintain open communication with students, colleagues, and supervisors. They may also contribute to curriculum improvement efforts aimed at enhancing student success.
- Teach classes as assigned, including preparing and delivering class, studio, clinical, or lab instruction at the College‑determined dates, times, modalities, and locations.
- Develop a course syllabus and post it to the College‑approved system by the established deadlines.
- Plan and deliver instruction using assigned materials to enhance student learning.
- Create or modify assignments, assessments, and other course materials to support and evaluate student understanding of the learning outcomes.
- Grade student work and provide constructive feedback in a timely manner, resolving incomplete or disputed grades as needed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities offered by the college and department.
- Validate textbooks, post syllabi, rosters, and submit final grades by the established deadlines.
- Keep current with the use of the Online Learning Management System (CANVAS) as required.
- Respond promptly to communications from students, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Meet with students individually to review coursework as needed.
- Collaborate with other faculty to support curriculum improvement and promote student success.
This position requires a Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts degree in Art or Fine Art, or a Master’s degree with at least 18 graduate credits in any combination of the following qualifying fields:
- Art
- Art Education
- Fine Art
- Previous teaching experience.

- Maintenance of faculty credentials required by the college’s accrediting agencies.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Works in a classroom/lab setting.
- Flexible hours, days, and assigned campus location may vary due to enrollment.
Adjunct faculty are paid according to the Non-Bargaining Unit Salary Schedule, based on the instructor’s highest degree earned. This posting is for a College Credit Course. Adjunct faculty also have access to professional development opportunities, retirement savings options, campus resources, and free Employee Assistance Program (EAP) services.
