Responsibilities

DESCRIPTION:

The Supervisor, Testing Center provides oversight for the delivery of assessment and testing services in accordance with institutional policy and procedures, and state and federal rules and regulations. Manages and trains staff and processes specific testing applications. The College anticipates that the position’s incumbent must be available throughout the workday and, on some occasions, after regular work hours. Therefore, as a condition of employment, the incumbent is expected to carry a personal cell phone and is required to provide their current cell phone number to the Office of Human Resources and to their immediate supervisor.

Essential Functions
  • Supervises, trains, monitors, and schedules work for assigned staff in compliance with prescribed and standardized procedures.
  • Maintains, troubleshoots, and responds to faculty questions and concerns of the testing center app system.
  • Coordinates off-campus administration of the computer-based GED examination.
  • Advises students on State, Federal, and Seminole State College testing policies and procedures.
  • Administers State-mandated entry and exit-standardized tests according to National College Testing Association (NCTA) and the Florida Association of College Test Administrators (FACTA) test administration and standardization procedures.
  • Supervises all testing center labs at assigned campus, including transferring computer equipment between lab locations.
  • Provides to College constituents the updated directory information and maintenance of the Testing Center portion of the Assessment and Testing Office webpage regarding services and hours.
  • Serves as department leadership in the absence of the Assistant and Director of Assessment and Testing.
  • Earns and maintains required proctor certification for contractual tests.
  • Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Business, Psychology, Education, Technology, or a related field.
  • Two years of demonstrated experience related to Assessment & Testing.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution in Business, Psychology, Education, Technology, or a related field.
  • Three years progressive experience in higher education assessment and testing environment.
  • One year of supervisory or team lead experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of community college testing procedures.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills; and attention to detail.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office 365 skills (Outlook, Word, Excel) and the ability to become proficient in Teams/Zoom.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills as a collaborative member in a team environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and other constituent groups.
  • Ability to exhibit a professional, courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to supervise, coordinate, and guide a group of test takers.
  • Ability to treat confidential information with sensitivity.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced multi-priority environment.
  • Committed to working in a multi-cultural environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT And SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS
  • Works inside in an office environment.
  • May be required to work at least one evening each week and Saturdays upon occasion.
  • Must be able to lift twelve (12) pounds unassisted to transfer computer equipment between locations.
  • May travel to different campus locations, trainings, and community-based events.
