Electrical Engineer / PCB Design Engineer
We are seeking an innovative Electrical Engineer / PCB Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in developing advanced tethered unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for both defense and commercial applications. The position requires a U.S. Person due to ITAR regulations.
Responsibilities
- Design complex multilayer PCBs for advanced unmanned systems and supporting electronics.
- Own hardware development from concept through production release.
- Create schematics, perform component selection, and develop board layouts using Altium Designer or similar tools.
- Develop mixed-signal, power, motor-control, and control system electronics.
- Participate in hardware architecture and design reviews.
- Troubleshoot prototype and production hardware, performing root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support PCB bring-up, validation, integration, and qualification testing.
- Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, systems, manufacturing, and test engineering teams.
- Work directly with manufacturing partners to support prototype and production builds.
- Contribute to new product development initiatives and next-generation system designs.
- Support design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-testability (DFT) activities.
- Help drive projects from initial requirements through field deployment and sustainment.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- 7–10+ years of hands-on electrical engineering and PCB design experience for electronic based products and high performing systems.
- Extensive experience designing complex multilayer PCBs for various applications including commercial, aerospace, robotics, automotive, or defense products.
- Proficiency with Altium Designer or similar ECAD platforms.
- Strong understanding of schematic capture, PCB layout, signal integrity, and electronic system integration.
- Power electronics and power supply design experience.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects with minimal oversight.
- Experience troubleshooting and validating physical hardware systems.
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person under ITAR regulations.

- High-speed digital PCB design experience.
- Mixed-signal electronics experience.
- Motor control design experience.
- RF, EMI/EMC, or MIL-STD-related design experience.
- Experience supporting products exposed to harsh environmental conditions.
- Experience working with unmanned systems, robotics, autonomous platforms, industrial equipment, or other electromechanical products.
- Experience in a fast-paced small-company environment.
- Experience supporting products that move, operate outdoors, or are deployed in real-world field environments.
Work Environment
This position is based onsite in South Orlando area, Florida. The engineering, leadership, and product development teams work closely together, making in-person collaboration an important part of the role.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Sanford, FL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
