The Recruiter, Talent Acquisition serves as the primary recruiter for faculty and instructional support positions, leading full-cycle recruitment from position vacancy through offer acceptance. This position partners with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, attract and select qualified talent, and provide guidance on hiring best practices while ensuring compliance with college policies and employment regulations.
Essential Functions- Serves as the primary recruiter for faculty and instructional support positions by partnering with hiring managers to develop recruitment strategies, source and evaluate candidates, conduct interviews, negotiate offers, and manage the full-cycle hiring process through offer acceptance to ensure successful candidate placement.
- Guides hiring managers on employment best practices, recruitment strategies, and competitive hiring approaches to attract qualified candidates and ensure an effective hiring process.
- Partners with Talent Acquisition staff to establish recruitment priorities, provide operational guidance, and ensure recruitment activities align with departmental hiring goals and service standards.
- Consults with hiring managers and HR Compensation to develop or revise position descriptions, recruitment strategies, and job postings that accurately reflect operational needs and appropriate classification and salary grade.
- Initiates job offers and collaborates with Deans, hiring managers, and HR Compensation on offer recommendations and counteroffer discussions
- Develops and implements recruitment marketing efforts, effectively utilizing job boards and other advertising strategies to attract top talent and evaluates the effectiveness of advertising strategies to optimize recruitment outcomes.
- Trains hiring managers and interview committees on employment policies, interview processes, and diversity requirements.
- Addresses recruitment challenges and issues throughout the hiring process by recommending solutions, facilitating communication among hiring teams, and ensuring successful recruitment outcomes.
- Prepares, establishes, and maintains detailed, accurate records, files, and reports related to HR recruiting and employment activities to support data-informed decision-making.
- Manages administrative activities throughout the hiring process, including follow-up, pre-employment requirements, background checks, hiring documentation, and onboarding activities to ensure timely completion of hiring actions.
- Interprets hiring practices to ensure compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, where applicable.
- Ensures compliance with college policies and as well as federal and state employment laws and regulations, maintaining adherence to legal standards.
- Performs other duties as may be required or assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
- Two (2) years of experience in full-cycle recruitment.
OR
- Associate’s degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
- Six (6) years of experience in full-cycle recruitment.
OR
- Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.
- Ten (10) years of experience in full-cycle recruitment.
- Experience in higher education recruitment or recruiting professional-level positions.
- Senior/Professional in Human Resources (PHR/SPHR), Society of Human Resources Management Senior/Certified Professional (SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP) or Recruiter Academy Certified Recruiter (RACR) certification.
- One (1) year experience using HRIS or Applicant Tracking system (ATS).
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
