Overview
As our new Field Service Engineer
, you’ll sit within the IT Operations function, based in Timaru
, playing a hands-on role supporting Sanford’s onshore sites and vessels when they’re in port.
Whether you’re working dockside on a vessel or supporting one of our processing sites, your focus will be on delivering an outstanding experience for our internal customers. You’ll be responsible for ensuring infrastructure-related requests and incidents across Sanford’s onshore locations and fleet are resolved within agreed SLAs, keeping our operations running smoothly.
You’ll be a key member of the team, enabling our people to work efficiently by ensuring the right tools, systems, and access are in place when they’re needed.
Responsibilities- Ensure infrastructure-related incidents and service requests are prioritised and resolved within agreed SLAs
- Identify, plan, and deliver IT infrastructure upgrades to a high standard, with minimal disruption to operations
- Proactively identify risks within the IT environment and ensure they are logged, assigned, and managed appropriately
- Ensure appropriate security controls are in place across the infrastructure domain
- Demonstrate strong customer focus, with a clear understanding of how IT issues impact Sanford’s business operations
- Support infrastructure-related projects and improvement initiatives as required
- 5+ years’ experience as an Infrastructure Support Engineer or Field Service Engineer, ideally in a customer-facing environment
- A tertiary qualification in IT or Engineering is preferred, but not essential
- Solid knowledge of IT systems and networks
- The ability to work autonomously and adapt to different locations and environments when required
