Job Description & How to Apply Below

Peoples Choice CU is hiring an IT Specialist in Saco for hybrid work.

Peoples Choice CU, voted one of the Best Places to Work in Maine for 16 consecutive years, is seeking a skilled and collaborative IT professional to join our Information Technology team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting people, and taking pride in well-run systems – all while working in a team-oriented, mission-driven environment.

Technology plays a critical role in how we serve our members and support our staff. The IT Specialist helps bring our mission of People First, Always to life by ensuring our systems are secure, reliable, and easy for employees to use in their daily work.

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll support the credit union’s day-to-day technology operations while contributing to broader IT initiatives that improve how we work. You’ll partner closely with staff, leadership, and our Managed Service Provider to administer systems, resolve issues, and continuously improve the employee technology experience.

A key focus of this position is ownership and stewardship of our SharePoint and Microsoft 365 environment, ensuring thoughtful structure, appropriate access, and consistent governance across the organization. You’ll also provide end-user support, onboarding, and training, helping employees feel confident and supported when using technology.

The IT Specialist plays an active role in supporting core business and digital systems, remote workforce needs, cybersecurity initiatives, vendor management, disaster recovery testing, and IT audits. You’ll work across departments to understand technology needs, recommend practical solutions, and help ensure systems are secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals.

What We’re Looking For
  • Associate degree in information technology or a related field, relevant certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in IT support or systems administration, preferably in a regulated or security-conscious environment.
  • Strong SharePoint expertise, including administration, permissions management, site structure, governance, and user enablement.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Windows environments, Active Directory, and modern cloud-based tools.
  • Experience providing end-user support, training, and clear technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and organizational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Clear communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • A collaborative, dependable work style aligned with a People First, Always approach to supporting colleagues.
What You’ll Love About Working Here
  • A collaborative IT team that values shared ownership, clear communication, and mutual support
  • A workplace culture that balances professionalism with approachability
  • Opportunities to contribute ideas and improve how technology supports the organization
  • The chance to make a meaningful impact supporting colleagues, members, and the community

** Please note that this position will be in-person in our Saco office for 90 days, then hybrid remote after that. Currently, the team is working about two days per week in the office, depending on needs. Occasional travel between our five branches (Saco, Biddeford, Sanford, Wells, and Windham) may be required.

If you’re an IT professional who values teamwork, practical solutions, and using technology to support people—not just systems—we’d love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us put People First, Always. Please send your cover letter and resume to careers or apply on our website.
