The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for the specific duties listed below.
Your specific duties will include:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor listings and pricing in the system.
- Assist in preparing bid and contract packages for vendors.
- Manage the flow of accurate information during the bid process between trades, estimating, and production.
- Collaborate with the Purchasing Manager to ensure Divisional specifications align with corporate standards.
- Provide support for all vendor-related issues and maintain strong vendor relationships.
- Act as a key communicator and coordinator between departments — including Estimating, Design, Sales, and Production — on all purchasing-related activities.
- Track and review construction variances, identify root causes, and implement fact-based solutions to minimize future spending.
- Work closely with Divisional and Corporate/Regional Estimating teams to develop and implement strategies that reduce variance spending.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Proficient in MS Excel.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in the construction industry.
- Estimating and Purchasing experience a plus.
- Reading blueprints and job cost accounting a plus.
