Under general supervision, the Maintenance Mechanic II performs corrective and preventive maintenance on all fixed and movable facility assets, ensuring a safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative, corrective, and emergent maintenance on building mechanical/plumbing equipment.
- Maintain boiler, mechanical, and utility system logs during after‑hour operations.
- Maintain lighting, alarm systems, dispose of used lamps per policy.
- Respond to system alarms and perform corrective actions under guidance.
- Replace or repair doors, fixtures, and equipment; maintain proper body mechanics.
- Adhere to safety, SOPs, Joint Commission standards, and “Environment of Care” policies.
- Communicate Facilities Management issues to supervisor; track work orders via CMMS.
- Monitor weather conditions; secure entrances and roofs during adverse weather.
- Maintain a clean work environment and tools.
- Provide after‑hour maintenance coverage via Call Back Rotation.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Post‑secondary or vocational training preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, sheet metal, automotive repair, ventilation, and clinical engineering preferred.
- 2–4 years of plant operations or building maintenance experience in a healthcare setting.
