Block Machine Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Concrete Machine Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will operate machinery that casts concrete blocks, ensuring high-quality standards are met throughout the process. You will be responsible for working with raw materials, monitoring the operation of the machinery, performing quality checks, and managing the finished products. This role requires a mechanically inclined individual who can perform basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance tasks.

• Perform complete visual inspections before operating machinery.
• Monitor the startup and shutdown processes of machinery according to production schedules.
• Conduct hourly quality checks on products, including height and moisture checks.
• Make necessary adjustments to machines, including timer and weight settings.
• Perform basic troubleshooting to clear jams and conduct preventative maintenance, such as cleaning machines before and after shifts.
• Ensure batching system settings align with current specifications.
• Scrape excess concrete and maintain cleanliness standards.
• Move finished blocks to racks with the use of forklifts when needed.

• Concrete experience and concrete finishing skills.
• Ability to perform concrete inspections.
• Mechanically inclined with basic troubleshooting skills.
• High attention to detail.

• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Able to stand for 12 hours a day.
• Able to lift 50 pounds throughout the shift.
• Ability to read a tape measure and follow basic work instructions.
• High school diploma.

You will work in an outdoor environment covered by a pavilion, experiencing both hot and cold conditions. The work environment is dusty and dirty. You will work Monday through Friday, with many Saturdays included, from 6 AM to 4 PM. Personal protective equipment, such as steel-toed boots, is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sanford, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
