A 221-bed acute care hospital and Level II Trauma Center in Sanford, FL is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Cardiac Neuro Telemetry unit. The hospital is home to the only full-service cardiovascular program in Seminole and West Volusia counties, encompassing open heart surgery, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, cardiac rehabilitation, and comprehensive diagnostic services, alongside orthopedic and spine care, robotic surgery, and acute inpatient medical rehabilitation.
The role. This position is based on a 27-bed Med-Tele unit caring for neurological and cardiac patients, including post-CABG, MI, and chest pain presentations. The nurse is responsible for the full nursing process — observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — across this acuity‑mixed population. The role includes administering medications and treatments as prescribed by an authorized practitioner, as well as health teaching and counseling directed at recovery, wellness maintenance, and illness prevention.
Patient safety and satisfaction are the primary drivers of care delivery on this unit.
- Minimum 1 year of recent (within the last 1–2 years) Med‑Surg/Telemetry acute care RN experience required
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred
- Active Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required; compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation
- Current American Heart Association BLS and ACLS certification required
- NIHSS Certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date; required to work under NIHSS‑credentialed RN supervision until training certificate is obtained
