Job Summary And Qualifications

Provide professional nursing care to patients utilizing the nursing process. Collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians to deliver quality health care. Primary role is delivery of competent clinically appropriate placement of Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) Lines and/or Midlines as ordered. Requires demonstrated knowledge of anatomy and physiology of central line placement/peripheral vascular, aseptic technique, ability to confirm line placement via chest x‑ray after successful placement of PICC three or more times under direct supervision of a Certified PICC nurse, and knowledge of maintenance and care of catheters.

The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of life‑span growth and development and the ability to assess data regarding patient status.

Qualifications
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or BCLS Instructor within 30 days of employment start date
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or ACLS Instructor within 6 months of employment start date
  • Associate Degree or Registered Nurse Diploma required;
    Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • 2+ years of critical‑care nursing experience strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of vascular access experience strongly preferred
