Job Summary
The Surgical Services Manager oversees the daily operations and activities of the Operating Room (OR) department. This role is responsible for managing departmental functions to achieve quality improvement, fiscal stability, productivity, and patient satisfaction goals established by the Director.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning, preparing, and overseeing staff schedules.
- Providing input on hiring, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
- Supervising RN, CST, FA, schedulers, OR aides, anesthesia staff, and sterile processing technicians.
- Managing operations across the OR, CVOR, anesthesia, and sterile processing departments.
- Developing collaborative relationships with hospital leadership, physicians, and staff to ensure efficient and effective department functioning.
- Ensuring compliance with JCAHO standards, hospital policies, and procedures.
- Managing supplies and equipment, fostering teamwork with physicians and healthcare providers, promoting customer satisfaction, and ensuring appropriate resource utilization.
- (APRN) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or (RN) Registered Nurse
- Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree
- Minimum 3 years of RN OR experience in an acute care hospital setting.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a full‑time Charge Nurse/Coordinator, Nursing Administrative Supervisor, or Nursing Management.
- CNOR preferred.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS Instructor obtained within 6 months of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course, or PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support, or PALS Instructor obtained within 6 months of employment start date.

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is a 221‑bed acute care hospital serving the communities of Seminole and West Volusia County.
