Job Overview
The Eye Care Advisor creates exceptional value by delivering the Lens Crafters Experience. Ensures all patients receive the highest quality optometric care and meets the store's key performance indicators.
MajorDuties & Responsibilities
- Greets customers within 30 seconds.
- Answers the telephone within 3 rings in a friendly manner.
- Explains required paperwork, tests, products, and services.
- Reviews prescriptions and patient information carefully, consulting with optician, managing doctor or retail management when necessary.
- Shows patience and courtesy toward indecisive or difficult customers and patients.
- Performs work accurately and thoroughly despite time pressure and customer volume.
- Identifies unsatisfied customers and resolves issues quickly.
- Demonstrates knowledge of appointment scheduling procedures and computer operation.
- Files patient records in an organized manner in compliance with HIPAA.
- Places contact lens orders, processes shipments, and submits invoices for payment.
- Operates the POS system to enter customer/patient and prescription information accurately.
- Collects proper payment following company security procedures and retains correct change for various transactions.
- Explains “One Hour” processing and expected delivery times.
- Maintains store appearance and visual displays per company guidelines.
- Maintains safe working environment for all associates and patients.
- Responds quickly to promotion changes with appropriate staff communication and materials.
- Demonstrates product knowledge and accurately describes features and benefits of lenses and frames.
- Assists customers in selecting frames and lenses suited to vision, lifestyle and budget.
- Performs all pre-examination testing with accuracy, explaining measurements and answering patient questions.
- Provides coaching and guidance on contact lens care and handling.
- Maintains and disinfects contact lens inventory and supports the optometrist clinically.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Strong customer service skills internally and externally.
- Knowledge of current fashion trends.
- Strong communication and listening skills.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators.
- Organization skills.
- Sales skills.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Knowledge of office and store merchandise.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail and/or optical.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
